About

Keen to get your dance on in a supportive, judgement-free space?

WonderBeats is for you!

What style of dance is WonderBeats?

WonderBeats isn’t tied to just one style—it’s a feel-good fusion. Classes blend the flavour of funk, street and groove, with the occasionally touch of syncopated rhythm more aligned with Afrobeats. It’s all about movement that feels good in your body—playful, grounded, and full of soul.

What music will we be dancing to?

Feel-good, deeply rhythmic tunes with heavily groove-driven baselines. From 90’s hip- hop to disco, funk, soul and Afro beats. Sometimes modern, sometimes old-school. Broad. Wild!

Who teaches WonderBeats?

Liz loves nothing more than spreading joy through rhythm and dance. With over 20 years of experience as a dancer and performer, she brings a big heart, an infectious smile, and a whole lot of soulful groove to every class.

Her movement language is rooted in traditional West African dance, shaped by formal training and deep immersion in dance communities across Australia, Guinea, and France. She pairs this with a couple of years exploring street dance styles, and was selected to undertake teacher training with a Melbourne-based dance company—an experience that strengthened her belief in accessible, feel-good movement for all bodies.

From the Rock Eisteddfod days of the '90s to community festivals celebrating music and movement from around the globe, Liz has always followed the call of the drum. These experiences form the heart of WonderBeats: joyful, soulful, inclusive dance that reconnects us with ourselves—and with each other.
